The Center specializes in caring for children who need extra help — whether they need multiple specialists, medical equipment or home care, or assistance with daily living. As a pediatric academic medical center, they work with thousands of kids who need advanced care. In addition to other specializations such as Down syndrome, autism and spina bifida, the Center also specializes in Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD) care. Their specialized team includes a pediatrician, psychology experts, rehab therapists, a care coordinator, and a social worker to develop a personalized healthcare and education plan for kids with FASD. The Center is the only such FASD program in Pennsylvania. They provide ongoing follow-up care to support their growth and development and connect families with community agencies.
