This resource developed by the Fetal Alcohol Advisory Support and Training Team (FAASTT) in collaboration with The University of Edinburgh, provides appropriate strategies and interventions for FASD and is also applicable for use with children and young people who are not yet diagnosed with FASD, but who share some of the same learning needs. The aim of this resource is to provide educators with a clear understanding of the needs of children and young people with FASD by:
• Defining FASD.
• Describing the common learning and behavioural characteristics of children with FASD.
• Suggesting strategies that may be helpful in meeting the needs of these children in the classroom.
